Our Story
Pick up the dessert for the Memorial Day barbeque. Cocoa Bean is closed Monday 5/27 and Tuesday 5/28. We'll see you on Wednesday 5/29.
Stop by for your morning coffee or hot chocolate and try one of our freshly baked almond croissants, chocolate croissants, or maybe a pistachio apricot Danish.
Try us out for lunch and pick from our selection of panini sandwiches, and maybe an individual chocolate mousse cake or vanilla crème brûlée for dessert. We also have a selection of large cakes and miniature pastries to choose from for any occasion.
Our pastries are made from the finest ingredients and we do not use any preservatives.
Pastry chefs Paul Saucedo and Nancy Wasik Saucedo specialize in delicate pastries, cakes and delicious bakery selections. They opened Cocoa Bean Fine Desserts in July 2004.
A Kendall College graduate, Chef Paul’s background includes Chicago’s Ritz Carlton Hotel and Rhapsody Restaurant. Relocating to Dallas, Texas, Paul took over the pastry responsibilities at the grand Hotel Adolphus, whose French Room is regarded as one of the finest dining experiences in the United States.
After graduating from Northern Illinois University, Nancy received Le Grande Diplome from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France. She gained experience at Chateau d’Artigny in Montbazon, France along with Fauchon in Paris. Back in the States, she enjoyed opening the catering department at The United Center, and gained invaluable knowledge at The Four Seasons and eatZi’s, both in Dallas, Texas.

Everyone loved the cake! I have many compliments on how adorable it was as well as the fantastic flavor. My daughter was absolutely in awe of the ponies! I wish I would have had some of your business cards to hand out as many people wanted to know where the cake was from.

I wanted to send our gratitude for the pirate cake you created for my son's 5th birthday last week. It was magnificent. The treasure map was beautiful and the pirate ship was exquisite. Little did we know until later that evening that the ship was so delicious-an unexpected surprise! It was a great great party and the BEST cake we have ever had.
I just wanted to thank you again for all of your assistance with the cake. It was perfect, and it tasted amazing! The details were exquisite, and Dan and I couldn't have been happier with the results. We look forward to our next big event as Cocoa Bean is the only place we will go to for our cakes from here on out!
